NHL nationally televised games for week of Jan. 26

Each Monday throughout the 2025-26 NHL season, ESPN and NHL Network analyst Kevin Weekes will provide fans with a guide of games that will be nationally televised. Today, a look at games for the 17th week of the regular season.

Highlights include the Anaheim Ducks visiting the Edmonton Oilers on "Prime Monday Night Hockey," and the Boston Bruins and Tampa Bay Lightning playing the 2026 Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series at Raymond James Stadium.

MONDAY, JANUARY 26

Anaheim Ducks at Edmonton Oilers (8:30 p.m. ET; Prime, KCOP-13, Victory+)

The "Prime Monday Night Hockey" game of the week features one of the surprise teams this season in the Ducks (28-21-3), who have won seven in a row. I have loved what veterans Jacob Trouba, Chris Kreider and Mikael Granlund have added to the team and what young players Cutter Gauthier, Beckett Sennecke, Jackson LaCombe and Leo Carlsson (out with a lower-body injury) have done this season. It certainly looks like the Ducks could end their lengthy Stanley Cup Playoff drought (seven seasons). The Oilers (26-19-8) had a nice win against the Washington Capitals (6-5 in overtime) on Sunday, but they still have yet to hit their stride and haven't won more than two games in a row all season. They're still in the top three in the Pacific Division, have talent, have managed to get to the Stanley Cup Final each of the past two seasons, and are capable of doing so again.

TUESDAY, JANUARY 27

Dallas Stars at St. Louis Blues (8 p.m. ET; HULU, ESPN+)

The Stars (29-14-9) enter the week with four wins in 15 games (4-7-4) but have one of the deepest rosters in the NHL at all positions. Jason Robertson, who was left off Team USA's roster for the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026, is having perhaps his best year as a pro with 60 points (30 goals, 30 assists) in 52 games. Dallas has won five of six against St. Louis. The Blues (19-24-9) have lost four straight (0-3-1) and are in danger of falling farther out of the playoff picture if they can't turn it around soon. They just haven't gotten the offensive production expected out of Jordan Kyrou, Robert Thomas and Jake Neighbours this season.

SATURDAY, JANUARY 31

Colorado Avalanche at Detroit Red Wings (1 p.m. ET; ABC, SNP, SNO, SNE)

Though the Avalanche (35-6-9) have cooled off a bit, they're still far and away the best team in the League. Nathan MacKinnon leads the League in goals (38), is on pace to break his NHL career high of 51 and with 88 points is in the Art Ross Trophy race for most in the NHL at the end of the season. Surprisingly, he's yet to win either award. Colorado has 12 players with at least 20 points and one of the best goalie tandems in the League after revamping the position with Mackenzie Blackwood and Scott Wedgewood last season. The Red Wings (32-16-5) are not only trying to end their nine-season playoff drought but are in the race for first in the Atlantic Division. You can see the fire and desire in this group to want to experience playoff hockey in the city, and this matchup will definitely feel like a playoff game.

New York Rangers at Pittsburgh Penguins (3:30 p.m. ET; ABC, SNO, SNE, SN1, TVAS)

The Rangers (21-25-6) enter the week coming off a disappointing road trip and have two wins in 13 games (2-9-2). The season began with higher expectations, but it looks as if they'll miss the playoffs for the second straight season. The futures of veterans Artemi Panarin, Mika Zibanejad and Vincent Trocheck among others are also looming over the team before the NHL Trade Deadline at 3 p.m. ET on March 6. It's also really surprising that they have just five wins at The World's Most Famous Arena this season (5-13-4). The Penguins (26-14-11) have surprised in a good way this season and are in a top-three spot in the Metropolitan Division. They obviously have veterans who have been there and done that, but the thing that they'll need to fix is their record in one-goal games (7-5-11).

Toronto Maple Leafs at Vancouver Canucks (7 p.m. ET; CBC, SNO, SNW, SNP)

The Maple Leafs (24-19-9) will be looking to get back on track during their final road trip before the Olympic break. It's been difficult for them this season with injuries. William Nylander (groin) is sidelined again, but Auston Matthews has played well against Vancouver with 18 goals in 26 games. The Canucks (17-30-5) recently lost 11 in a row (0-9-2) and likely will be losing more key pieces before the deadline.

SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 1

Boston Bruins at Tampa Bay Lightning (6:30 p.m. ET; ESPN, SN, TVAS)

The Atlantic Division rivals will face off at Raymond James Stadium, the home of the NFL's Tampa Bay Buccaneers, in the 2026 Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series. The Lightning (32-14-4) will host their first outdoor game. They had their 15-game point streak end with an 8-5 loss at the Columbus Blue Jackets on Saturday and play their remaining five games before the Olympic break in Tampa, Florida. They've been doing this without stars like Brayden Point and Victor Hedman, who have been out with injuries. The Bruins (30-20-2) are 4-1-0 in outdoor games.
