The New Jersey Devils are hitting the road Wednesday night for their second preseason game. After holding their morning skate at Prudential Center, they'll head across the Hudson to take on the rival New York Rangers. The game will be broadcast at 7 p.m. on the MSG Network.

Coach John Hynes will ice a different lineup than that of Monday's against the Capitals. Some names of note drawing in are newcomer Drew Stafford, captain Andy Greene and goaltender Cory Schneider.
The veterans will be skating with a group of younger players.19-year-old Michael McLeod will have a chance to impress the coaching staff. There will be fewer nerves than last season says McLeod, who recalls playing in a preseason game last year against the Rangers at MSG. He will center the third line with Blake Pietila and Jimmy Hayes on his wings.
20-year-old Blake Speers, who made the 2016-17 Devils opening night roster, will play his first game of the preseason. Coach Hynes is giving him top billing, playing him on the first line with Miles Wood and Adam Henrique.

Hayes, who is with the Devils on a PTO, will play a second consecutive game. The NHL veteran played Monday against Washington and found himself in the penalty box three times. This game may hold some extra meaning for Hayes, whose younger brother Kevin is on the Rangers' game-day roster.
Hayes said his brother has gotten the best of him in NHL matchups and he would like that to change tonight in New York. Hayes said he will also have his father in the crowd, adding that once the brothers checked the lineups Tuesday night, they invited their him to attend.
