Forward reveals funky vest, lining when putting on Buffalo jersey for first time

Matthew Savoie is Buffalo's newest Tiger King.

The Buffalo Sabres draft pick revealed a custom tiger suit when he put on the Sabres jersey after getting drafted. A drawing of a tiger was on the back of Savoie's vest and inside of his suit jacket.

Buffalo selected the forward ninth overall at the 2022 Upper Deck NHL Draft at Bell Centre in Montreal on Thursday.
Savoie told ESPN's Emily Kaplan that he decided to go with the tiger when designing the suit after seeing a portrait of a tiger.

There was no special meaning behind the animal choice.
"I just thought it was a pretty cool animal, honestly," Savoie said.
