Subban, Malcolm

Malcolm Subban signed a one-year, $850,000 contract with the Vegas Golden Knights on Tuesday.

The 25-year-old goalie was a restricted free agent who had a salary arbitration hearing scheduled for July 20.
"Malcolm has] been a valuable contributor to our team over the last two seasons," general manager George McPhee said. "We are excited to continue to work with Malcolm and help him reach his full potential as an NHL goaltender."

Subban went 8-10-2 with a 2.93 goals-against average, a .902 save percentage and one shutout in 21 games (20 starts) with the Golden Knights last season. He did not play in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Claimed off waivers from the Boston Bruins by Vegas on Oct. 3, 2017, Subban set NHL career bests with 13 wins and a 2.68 GAA in 22 games (19 starts) in 2017-18 to help the Golden Knights advance to the Stanley Cup Final, when they lost to the Washington Capitals.
Selected by the Bruins in the first round (No. 24) in the 2012 NHL Draft, Subban is 21-16-4 with a 2.88 GAA, a .903 save percentage and one shutout in 45 games (41 starts) with the Golden Knights and Bruins.
He is the brother of New Jersey Devils defenseman P.K. Subban.
