Luke Kunin of the Minnesota Wild will miss the remainder of the season because of a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.

The 20-year-old forward was injured during a 4-1 loss against the Detroit Red Wings on Sunday. He is expected to have surgery in the coming weeks and could miss training camp next season; the expected recovery time is approximately seven months.

Selected by Minnesota in the first round (No. 15) in the 2016 NHL Draft, Kunin has four points (two goals, two assists) in 19 games this season.
The Wild (37-22-7) who host the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday (8 p.m. ET, FS-N, FS-CR, NHL.TV), are in third place in the Central Division, six points behind the second-place Winnipeg Jets and two points ahead of the fourth-place Dallas Stars.
