SAN JOSE --Logan Couture scored at 3:33 of overtime to give the San Jose Sharks a 3-2 win against the Los Angeles Kings at SAP Center on Sunday in the first preseason game for each team.
Timo Meier had a goal and an assist, and Tomas Hertl had two assists for the Sharks. Kaapo Kahkonen made 43 saves. Carl Grundstrom had a goal and an assist for the Kings. Jonathan Quick allowed one goal on 18 shots in 33:11 before being relieved by Matt Villalta, who made 11 saves. Luke Kunin gave San Jose a 1-0 lead at 6:25 of the first period, but Grundstrom tied it 1-1 59 seconds into the third period. Meier put the Sharks back in front at 9:50 to make it 2-1, but Blake Lizotte scored at 17:25 to tie it 2-2.
