The team hosted a "90s Night" during a game against the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday, which is not uncommon. But the Kings and Fox Sports teamed up to bring "FoxTrax," the infamous glowing puck technology, back for one night only.
The purple glowing puck was used pregame and on replays of Kings goals, complete with the sometimes red tail that was added on a shot attempt.
"FoxTrax" debuted at the 1996 NHL All-Star Game to mixed reviews. It was used until the end of the 1997-98 season of the "NHL on Fox."
When the Kings brought it back for their theme night, it looked... just as we remembered it.
