Chestnut joins Islanders at fan fest

Competitive eater meets Cizikas, Mayfield, Barzal at annual barbeque

It wouldn’t be a barbeque without Joey Chestnut in the house.

The famed competitive eater and 17-time Nathan's Fourth of July Hot Dog Eating Contest champion joined the New York Islanders at the team’s annual Season Ticket Member Fan Fest BBQ on Sunday.

Naturally, he brought his world championship belt.

Chestnut met with Islanders players Casey Cizikas, Scott Mayfield and Mathew Barzal at the event.

Chestnut is a staple at the annual Nathan's Contest held on Coney Island in Brooklyn, New York and is the current reigning champion. He’s won 17 of the past 19 years competitions and currently holds 55 world records in competitive eating.

Sure looks like Chestnut is relishing his time with the Islanders.
