Winnipeg Jets rookie forward Patrik Laine could return to the lineup against the San Jose Sharks on Tuesday (8 p.m. ET; TSN3, CSN-CA, NHL.TV) after being out since Jan. 7 because of a concussion.
"He's very close," coach Paul Maurice said after the morning skate Monday. "I consider him an option for tomorrow."

Laine returned to practice Friday, and Sunday was his first practice without a non-contact jersey. He's scored 21 goals and 37 points, tied for second among rookies.
Laine will miss his eighth straight game when the Jets host the Anaheim Ducks (8 p.m. ET; TSN3, KCOP-13, NHL.TV) on Monday. Winnipeg is 3-3-1 in his absence.
"He feels really good, so he's been banging on the door a little bit here," Maurice said. "He's feeling strong, feeling ready. If we weren't playing San Jose tomorrow, it it wasn't back-to-back, we would have considered him for this game."
