Carter skates for second straight day, remains out indefinitely for Kings

Los Angeles Kings forward Jeff Carter skated again on Wednesday, a day after taking the ice for the first time since sustaining a lacerated ankle tendon during a game Oct. 18.
"Carter just went on the ice a couple of days ago. By himself," Kings general manager Rob Blake told NHL.com on Wednesday.

Carter, 33, was injured when Montreal Canadiens defenseman Jeff Petry's left skate caught Carter in the back of his left leg in the first period of the Kings' 5-1 win.
He had surgery for the laceration Oct. 19 and remains out indefinitely.
Carter has three assists in six games this season. He led the Kings last season in goals (32) and points (66).
The Kings, who have lost four straight games (0-4-0), next play the Pittsburgh Penguins at Staples Center on Thursday (10 p.m. ET; NBCSN, SN360, ATTSN-PT, NHL.TV).
