Jamie Oleksiak's sister wins record fourth medal

Swimmer Penny Oleksiak, the 16-year-old sister of Dallas Stars defenseman Jamie Oleksiak, on Thursday became the first Canada athlete to win four medals at a single Summer Olympics.
Penny won gold in the women's 100-meter freestyle for her fourth medal at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics. She tied Simone Manuel of the United States; each finished in an Olympic record 52.70 seconds.

Penny, competing in her first Olympics, won silver in the 100-meter butterfly and bronze in the 4x100-meter and 4x200-meter freestyle relays.
The Toronto, Ontario, native set a Canada and world junior record Sunday in the 100-meter butterfly with a time of 56.46.
"It would have been easy for her to go to the Olympics and just get her feet wet, but she came in and was dominant," Jamie, 23, said Wednesday. "Was I expecting that? No, but she's got that competitive nature."

On Wednesday, Penny became Canada's first three-time Olympic swimming medalist since Anne Ottenbrite won three in Los Angeles in 1984.
"My brother and sister (Hayley) have had my back since the day I started swimming," Penny told TSN on Monday. "They've both taught me a lot throughout my five, six years of swimming. They're here today, and just looking up in the stands and getting to see their reactions is a great feeling."
Penny could have tied speedskater Cindy Klassen (2006 Torino) for most medals by a Canadian in one Olympics, but the Canada 4x100-meter medley relay finished fifth Saturday.
Penny was the first Canada woman to swim in the 100-meter freestyle in the Olympics since Marion Lay was fourth in Mexico City in 1968, according to The Canadian Press.
