BLACKHAWKS DEFEAT CANADIENS, EXTEND POINT STREAK TO 11 GAMES

to hand the Montreal Canadiens their second regulation loss of the season and help the Chicago Blackhawks extend their point streak to 11 games (9-0-2).
* The Blackhawks won their seventh consecutive home game against the Canadiens, dating to Oct. 18, 2006 (MTL: 0-6-1), and improved to 8-1-2 at United Center in 2016-17, with their lone regulation loss coming in their home opener.
* Corey Crawford made 21 saves and improved to 7-0-2 in his last nine games, and 8-3-2 with a 2.01 goals-against average, .934 save percentage and two shutouts this season. Crawford, a native of Montreal, also boosted his record to 6-0-2 in eight career games against his hometown team.

RASK MATCHES BEST 11-GAME START BY A GOALIE IN FRANCHISE HISTORY

Tuukka Rask turned aside all 21 shots he faced for his NHL-leading third shutout of 2016-17 (tied w/ Sergei Bobrovsky and Devan Dubnyk) and backstop the Boston Bruins to their seventh victory in the past nine games. Rask won his fourth straight game and improved to 10-1-0 with a 1.54 GAA, .945 save percentage and three shutouts. Rask became just the second goaltender in the Bruins' 92-year history to win 10 of his first 11 games in a season, according to the Elias Sports Bureau; Gerry Cheevers went 10-1-0 in 1976-77.

GRABNER, RANGERS CONTINUE HOT STREAK

Michael Grabner scored two goals to lead the New York Rangers to their seventh win in their past eight games and to a 12-4-0 record overall (24 points), tied with the Blackhawks (11-3-2, 24 points) for second in the NHL behind the Canadiens (13-2-1, 27 points). This marks the second time in the Rangers' 90-year history that they have won 12 of their first 16 games to start a season; the other instance came in 2015-16 when they began 12-2-2. Grabner, who shares second in the NHL with 10 goals in 16 games, has passed the nine goals he had in 80 games with the Toronto Maple Leafs last season.

JETS, WILD AND CANUCKS PICK UP WINS IN EXTRA TIME

The Winnipeg Jets, Minnesota Wild and Vancouver Canucks required extra time to win Sunday:
* Patrik Laine scored a
nifty goal
in the second round of the shootout and Mark Scheifele had the game-deciding goal as the Jets extended their point streak to four games (3-0-1).
* Mathew Dumba scored his second NHL overtime goal (also March 17, 2015 at the Nashville Predators) to become the third Wild defensemen with multiple overtime goals, joining Brent Burns (five) and Marco Scandella (two).
* Troy Stecher tied the game with his first career NHL goal with 1:40 remaining in the third period and Markus Granlund
scored in overtime
to help the Canucks rally from third-period deficits of 3-1 and 4-3. Elias notes that Vancouver has won four games this season after trailing in the third period, tops in the NHL.

The Canucks earned their first win against the Dallas Stars since a 4-3 win Feb. 21, 2013, ending a 10-game losing streak (0-7-3). … Blackhawks defenseman Gustav Forsling scored his first NHL goal. … Stars forward Antoine Roussel had a goal and an assist to extend his NHL career-high point streak to six games (3-5-8). … Tyler Seguin (2-6-8), Daniel Sedin (3-2-5), Andrei Markov (2-5-7), Alex Galchenyuk (3-4-7) and Alexander Radulov (0-6-6) each extended point streaks to five games. … Blackhawks forward Marian Hossa (4-2-6) has scored in four consecutive games. … Colorado Avalanche forward Jarome Iginla skated in his 1,488th NHL game, passing Wayne Gretzky (1,487) for 18th place on the all-time list. … Los Angeles Kings forward Dustin Brown (900) and Edmonton Oilers forward Benoit Pouliot (500) each skated in milestone games. … The
