HockeyAtHome

Moms are in the spotlight just in time for Mother's Day on the latest episode of "#HockeyAtHome," which will stream on NHL social channels and NHL.com at 11 a.m. ET on Sunday, and broadcast on SN1 at 1 p.m. ET. It will also air on NBCSN at 5 p.m. ET on Wednesday, NHL Network at 9:30 p.m. ET on Thursday, and Sportsnet at 6 p.m. ET on Saturday, May 16.

Co-hosts Kathryn Tappen of NBC Sports Network and David Amber of Sportsnet virtually visit the Hughes, Strome and Ayers families to discuss various topics related to the matriarchs of their respective households.

New Jersey Devils center Jack Hughes, Vancouver Canucks defenseman Quinn Hughes and USA Hockey National Team Development Program defenseman Luke Hughes were joined by their mom, Ellen, who played competitive hockey.

New York Rangers center Ryan Strome, Chicago Blackhawks center Dylan Strome and Philadelphia Flyers forward prospect Matthew Strome were interviewed with their mother, Trish, who was the breakout star of the Rangers' moms trip in February when she read the lineup in the locker room before the game.

David Ayres, who became the oldest goalie (42) to win his NHL debut and the first emergency backup to win an NHL game for the Carolina Hurricanes in a 6-3 victory against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Feb. 22, appeared with his mother, Mary.

Mary was David's kidney donor and he got emotional during the interview talking about getting a second chance at life because of her.

"My mom's the best and I try to tell her that as much as possible," he said.
