Game Preview: Islanders vs. Penguins

New York Islanders (7-10-4) vs. Pittsburgh Penguins (16-6-3)

It'll take more than two goals to break through against the Penguins, as the Islanders look to score three regulation goals for the first time since Nov. 7.
The Islanders will have to stay out of the box against the Penguins, as Pittsburgh scored a pair of power-play goals in the team's first meeting, but the Isles done a good job of staying disciplined of late. The Islanders have taken six total penalties over their past four games, after taking five or more in the four before that.

Adam Pelech's Status:

Adam Pelech left Monday's win against the Calgary Flames in the second period and did not return, putting his status for Wednesday's game in jeopardy. Pelech skated on his own on Tuesday according to Newsday's Arthur Staple.
If Pelech can't go, Scott Mayfield is healthy and on the team's roster. Ryan Pulock was activated off of injured reserve on Tuesday, but was loaned to Bridgeport. Dennis Seidenberg (upper body) is still on IR, but practiced with the team - according to Staple.

Penguins Notes:

The Penguins are 4-3-1 in their last eight games and have been off since a 4-3 shootout win over the New Jersey Devils on Saturday night.
Sidney Crosby is scoring at nearly a goal-per-game pace, with 15 tallies in 16 games, good enough to lead the NHL in goals. Crosby has 20 points (15G, 5A) this season and is one point back of Evgeni Malkin and Phil Kessel for a share of the team scoring lead.
Patric Hornqvist is close to returning from a concussion and could be back in the lineup on Wednesday according to coach Mike Sullivan (via Jason Mackey). Hornqvist has been sidelined since Nov. 16.
Matt Murray is on a roll for the Penguins, winning his last three starts, improving to 7-1-0 on the season.
