Game Day Five: Blue Jackets vs Senators, Mar. 4

The Senators bring their four-game win streak to Canadian Tire Centre as they are set to host the Columbus Blue Jackets.

The set-up
The goals have come in bunches of late as the Senators carry a four-game win streak into tonight's tilt against the Columbus Blue Jackets. In those four wins the Senators have outscored their opponents 22-8. It's important to note that those 22 goals came from 11 different skaters and 17 came at even strength with a shorthanded goal to boot. This team is firing on all cylinders right now as they make a push for the playoffs, now sitting just four points behind the Islanders with three games in hand.
Don't let Columbus' record deceive you into thinking this is not a dangerous team. Though they sit in last place in the league, they have an uncanny ability to win games against the leagues top teams. One needs to look no further than the 12-day stretch from February 16th to February 28th that they beat Winnipeg, Dallas, Edmonton and Buffalo. Led by the electric "Johnny Hockey" with 55 points on the season, while Patrik Laine adds 41 points of his own, this team will come out with something to prove tonight!

What to expect at Canadian Tire Centre
Fan at Canadian Tire Centre will be treated to a bevy of celebrations tonight. First, the night will open with a ceremony recognizing Derick Brassard skating in his 1000th NHL game which he skated in against the New York Rangers on Thursday night. He will be joined by his family as a special tribute video plays for him.
Following that it is Pride Night, where every single fan in attendance will receive a special pride themed t-shirt. During the game there will be pride themed content for all fans to enjoy!

Who to watch
With a game under his belt as a Senators already and set to play a bigger role tonight, Jakob Chychrun is primed to show his stuff as a top-four defenceman tonight. Chychrun didn't skip a beat Thursday night against the Rangers, despite not having played a game for three weeks before that. On the year Chychrun has seven goals and 21 assists for 28 points, and over his seven-year career he has 60 goals and 110 assists for 170 points. Look for Chychrun to be active here tonight as he looks to strike for the first time as an Ottawa Senator!
