CapsFlyers

The Philadelphia Flyers and Washington Capitals close out the pre-All Star portion of their schedules when they play in the Wednesday Night Rivalry game at Verizon Center (8 p.m. ET; NBCSN).

Win or lose, the Capitals will enter the All-Star break with the best record in the NHL, and are running away with first place in the Metropolitan Division. It's their first game since a 6-3 victory against the Columbus Blue Jackets last Tuesday; Washington's scheduled home games Friday against the Anaheim Ducks and Sunday against the Pittsburgh Penguins were postponed by a snowstorm..
The Flyers have dropped to next-to-last in the division by losing their past three games in regulation. To end the losing streak, the Flyers will have to do something they've struggled to do for the past decade; shut down Alex Ovechkin. Washington's captain has 29 goals and 46 points in 38 career games against the Flyers. He also has 17 goals in 21 home games this season.
