Defenseman Justin Faulk scored a power-play goal to give the Carolina Hurricanes a 2-1 win against the Washington Capitals in overtime at Verizon Center on Monday.

Eddie Lack stopped all 16 shots he faced and Alex Nedeljkovic made nine saves on 10 shots for the Hurricanes. Forward Patrick Brown also scored for Carolina.
Capitals forward Tom Wilson sustained an upper-body injury and did not return to the game as a precaution. Defenseman Madison Bowey scored a power-play goal for Washington.
