The Carolina Hurricanes weren't going to let a fan go home without a jersey upgrade.

A fan got creative with his jersey choice to Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Second Round between the Hurricanes and the New Jersey Devils at PNC Arena on Wednesday.

The fan taped on a handmade drawing of the Hurricanes' third jersey logo onto defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere's old Philadelphia Flyers sweater.

Once the Hurricanes spotted the fan's handy work, they sprang into action.

Carolina mascot Stormy brought the fan a brand-new Hurricanes jersey featuring the secondary logo to change in to.

The fan happily obliged, but tweeted after the game that Gritty would not be happy with him.

Gritty might not be happy, but Stormy sure is.
