Facts and Figures: Golden Knights extend winning streak to six

The Vegas Golden Knights are proving their successful inaugural season in the NHL was not a fluke.

The Golden Knights (26-15-4), who won 51 games and advanced to the 2018 Stanley Cup Final, are tied with the Calgary Flames (26-13-4) for first in the Pacific Division after a 3-2 win against the New Jersey Devils at T-Mobile Arena on Sunday.
Vegas' sixth consecutive victory extended its point streak to nine games (7-0-2) and 11 on home ice (9-0-2), one behind its record of 12 games (10-0-2), to become the first team in NHL history with a home point streak of at least 11 games in each of its first two NHL seasons.

The Golden Knights are 25-11-4 (54 points) after they were 1-4-0 on Oct. 13, second behind the Tampa Bay Lightning (31-7-2, 64 points) during that span.

Defense powers Hurricanes to fourth straight win

Five different skaters, including three defensemen, scored to help the Carolina Hurricanes win their fourth consecutive game, a 5-4 victory against the Ottawa Senators at Canadian Tire Centre.
Dougie Hamilton extended his goal streak to an NHL career high three games for the Hurricanes (19-17-5). He is the seventh different defenseman to score at least one goal in three straight games this season (John Klingberg, Dallas Stars, Oct. 9-15; John Carlson, Washington Capitals, Oct. 17-22; Neal Pionk, New York Rangers, Nov. 4-9; Aaron Ekblad, Florida Panthers, Nov. 13-17; Mathew Dumba, Minnesota Wild, Nov. 13-17; Mark Giordano, Flames, Dec. 12-16).
Defensemen Justin Faulk and Jaccob Slavin also scored for Carolina on Sunday.
Hamilton can become the first defenseman in Hurricanes/Hartford Whalers history with goals in four straight games when Carolina plays the New York Islanders at Nassau Coliseum on Tuesday (7 p.m. ET; MSG+, FS-CR, NHL.TV).

Kane, Blackhawks halt Penguins run

Patrick Kane had three assists for the Chicago Blackhawks in a 5-3 victory against the Pittsburgh Penguins at PPG Paints Arena that ended the Penguins' eight-game winning streak. It was the 15th time in Kane's NHL career he had at least three assists in one game.

Kane (54 points; 23 goals, 31 assists) is the first player in Blackhawks history, and first United States-born skater, to start his NHL career with at least 30 assists in 12 straight seasons. His 652 points (259 goals, 393 assists) are second to Penguins center Sidney Crosby (661 points; 247 goals, 414 assists) for the most since the beginning of the 2010-11 season. Philadelphia Flyers forward Claude Giroux is third with 649 (202 goals, 447 assists).
