EDM@WPG: Ehlers finishes Stastny's incredible dish

WINNIPEG --Nikolaj Ehlers had a goal and three assists, and the Winnipeg Jets rallied past the Edmonton Oilers for a 6-4 win at Bell MTS Place on Tuesday.

Andrew Copp had two goals and two assists, and Adam Lowry had a goal and two assists for the Jets (5-2-0), who split two games with the Oilers following a 4-3 loss Sunday. Connor Hellebuyck made 22 saves.
"I feel like I've expanded my game," said Copp, who has scored four goals in his past three games. "I haven't really tried to change it too much, but I've tried to increase my offensive output, make a few more plays, be a little more crisp, execute, and it kind of came to fruition tonight. The puck has been going in. We've had a lot of chances though. I feel like we could have had more."
Leon Draisaitl and Connor McDavid each had a goal and an assist, and Darnell Nurse had three assists for the Oilers (3-5-0). Mikko Koskinen made 27 saves in his eighth straight start.
"I thought it was a pace game," Edmonton coach Dave Tippett said. "Second period had lots of pace. We had some chances in the second period to extend the lead, and they came out in the third and pushed. We made a couple of mistakes and it ended up in the back of our net. And then we chased it."

Ehlers scored for a fifth straight game to tie it 3-3 at 3:19 of the third period. He has 10 points (five goals, five assists) in his past five games.
"I feel really good, which is to me the most important thing," Ehlers said. "Going out there and playing with [Paul Stastny] and [Copp] right now, they're amazing players. They're making it so much easier for me to keep using my speed. They're two fantastic players."
Stastny gave Winnipeg a 4-3 lead at 5:26 on a rebound in front, and Lowry extended it to 5-3 at 6:46 when he redirected a pass from Derek Forbort at the top of the crease.
"We just let them have too much time with the puck and they took that one out from underneath us," Oilers forward Josh Archibald said. "I think we've just got to come together more as a group. We've got to put full games together. We're not quite putting a full 60 minutes."

With Koskinen pulled for the extra skater, McDavid cut it to 5-4 at 18:10, but Copp scored into an empty net at 19:08 for the 6-4 final.
Draisaitl scored for the fourth game in a row to give the Oilers a 1-0 lead 1:48 of the first period, skating down the right wing before beating Hellebuyck five-hole on the power play. Copp tied it 1-1 with a power-play goal at 5:14.
"He hasn't changed his identity," Jets coach Paul Maurice said. "So he's not cheating the game to do it. He's true to his own game. He's a very, very strong defensive player that takes great pride in the penalty kill, so he's a little wounded tonight when they're scoring. But he's been honest about the way that he's generated his offense."
Adam Larsson scored for Edmonton to make it 2-1 at 9:13, and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins made it 3-1 on the power play at 11:16. The Oilers were 2-for-2 on the power play after going 1-for-18 in their previous five games.
Mathieu Perreault cut it to 3-2 at 14:37 of the first with a one-timer near the left hash marks three seconds after a power play expired.
