Instant analysis: Lightning at Islanders, Game 3

NEW YORK --The Tampa Bay Lightning defeated the New York Islanders 5-4 in overtime in Game 3 of their Eastern Conference Second Round series at Barclays Center on Tuesday. The Lightning lead the best-of-7 series 2-1.
Brian Boyle scored 2:48 into OT. The puck ricocheted off the end boards to Boyle stationed to the right of the net. It went off his right skate, and he collected it calmly and put it into the net before goaltender Thomas Greiss could recover.

What we learned: The Lightning will not be intimidated. Islanders defenseman Travis Hamonic set the tone in warmups when he bumped Boyle and the two had words. New York defenseman Thomas Hickey cranked it up in the second period when he drilled Tampa Bay forward Jonathan Drouin with a devastating, clean check. Drouin left the game but returned midway through the third period and set up the tying goal with 38.4 seconds left.

What this means for the Lightning: They came into a hostile environment and came back after trailing 1-0, 3-2 and 4-3. They have home-ice advantage again.
What this means for the Islanders: They re-established their identity by doing what coach Jack Capuano wanted, throwing hits, generating traffic and getting pucks to the net. The fourth line made an impact. But it wasn't enough. They blew a chance to win their first home second-round Stanley Cup Playoff game since 1993 and put the pressure on the Lightning.

Key moment: Drouin set up the tying goal with 38.4 seconds left. After leaving the game in the second period because of the Hickey hit, he returned in the third and was on the ice in the dying seconds with the Lightning trailing 4-3 and Bishop pulled for the extra attacker. He sent a slick pass from left to right into the slot for Nikita Kucherov, who beat Islanders goaltender Thomas Greiss to tie it 4-4 and send the game to overtime.
Unsung player of the game: Islanders forward Josh Bailey had no goals, one assist and a minus-4 rating in the Eastern Conference First Round against the Florida Panthers. He also sustained an upper-body injury and spent the first two games of the second round at home with his wife watching on television while his teammates played in Tampa. He returned Tuesday and scored twice, giving the Islanders leads of 1-0 and 3-2.
