Sutter undecided about coaching Kings: report

Darryl Sutter said he is undecided about returning to coach the Los Angeles Kings, Sportsnet reported Saturday.
Sutter told reporter Elliotte Friedman via text message that he is watching to see how the Kings approach free agency, their NHL salary-cap situation and the use of prospects. He also said the ability to win the Stanley Cup is "a big factor."

Kings general manager Dean Lombardi said this week Sutter "certainly has an offer on the table," but added, "I think it's smart [for him to take his time]."
Sutter was hired by the Kings on Dec. 20, 2011, to replace Terry Murray, and was given a contract extension on Jan 18, 2013.
Sutter has won the Stanley Cup twice (2012, 2014), reached 100 wins with the Kings faster than any coach in franchise history, and is the fourth NHL coach to win at least 100 games with four teams. He has settled into the South Bay area of Los Angeles and told Friedman that he and his family like living there.
The Kings' season ended with a 6-3 loss to the San Jose Sharks in the Western Conference First Round on April 22. Los Angeles did not make the Stanley Cup Playoffs in 2014-15.
