Blues Backup singer split

A team is only as good as it's bench. And in the case of St. Louis Blues game day anthem singers, the bench looks pretty strong.

Blues content manager Brian Santa Maria was pressed into service on the mic with the team's regular anthem singer stuck in traffic before Tuesday's game against the Boston Bruins at Enterprise Center.

Those kinds of things can go one of two ways, but thanks to some video evidence the Blues shared on social media this weekend, anyone can see it went quite well.

Santa Maria, a father of two who has been with the team since 2021, absolutely crushed the performance, sparking impressed reactions from fans around the League.

The Blues, in clever fashion, branded Santa Maria the "EBUS" for their emergency backup singer, a play on EBUGs for when NHL teams use emergency backup goalies.
