It would be the Flyers' longest winning streak since they won 10 in a row from Nov. 27 to Dec. 14, 2016. This streak started after they lost 10 straight games (0-5-5). They are the fifth team to win more than five in a row after going winless in 10 straight, the first since the San Jose Sharks lost 10 in a row (0-7-3) and then won six straight in 2005-06.
The Stars are playing for the second straight night; they lost 5-2 against the New Jersey Devils at Prudential Center on Friday. Coach Ken Hitchcock will try again for his 800th NHL win. He would be the third coach in League history with that many, joining Scotty Bowman (1,244) and Joel Quenneville (867). Hitchcock had 131 wins during four seasons with the Flyers (2002-03 to 2006-07).
