Cogliano sustained an upper-body injury during a 4-1 loss against the Vegas Golden Knights at T-Mobile Arena on Tuesday. Cogliano has played in 929 of a possible 931 games during his 12-season NHL career for the Edmonton Oilers, Anaheim Ducks and Stars, missing two games last season because of suspension to end his consecutive games played streak at 830, the fourth-longest in NHL history.
The Stars are 2-5-0 in their past seven games and trail the Minnesota Wild and Colorado Avalanche by one point for a wild card from the Western Conference into the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
The Kings, who are last in the Western Conference, are 0-6-3 in their past nine games. A loss Thursday would match their second-longest losing streak ever, (0-10-0 from Feb. 22-March 9, 1984).

Players to watch

Stars forward Alexander Radulov has four points (two goal, two assists) during a three-game point streak.
Kings forward Alex Iafallo has four points (three goals, one assist) in his past six games.

They said it

"This kind of game, (against) a team that's obviously out of it, you got to almost find and dig up more emotion to not only get into it but be ready for the first five minutes and take over and set the pace right away." -- Stars center Tyler Seguin
"That's kind of the one thing that we've been holding our goalies out to dry on is we'll go do somebody else's job and then leave our guy wide open, so we got to tighten up." -- Kings forward Jonny Brodzinski on how Los Angeles has allowed 15 goals in the past three games
