Coach Dave Tippett did not have an update after the game.
"He is a real heart-and-soul player, and we'll see where things are at tomorrow and we'll adjust accordingly," Tippett said. "He was at the hospital. I don't want to say. I don't have any clear information yet. When we get that, we'll probably update everything tomorrow."
Richardson was on the ice for several minutes before he was taken off by medical personnel, who were tending to his right leg.
"It was tough watching [Richardson] go down," Arizona rookie defenseman Tony DeAngelo said. "I watched the replay, and it was pretty ugly and he was in a lot of pain. Just hoping for the best and trying to keep him in our thoughts and prayers tonight."
Richardson gave the Coyotes a 1-0 lead with his fifth goal 1:22 into the period. The 31-year-old has played 607 NHL games, including 118 with the Canucks from 2013-15.
Tryamkin, who is 6-foot-7, 265 pounds, was not called for a penalty.
"I don't think there was any maliciousness," Arizona captain Shane Doan said. "Was it an interference penalty? Probably, but I don't think it was anything more. He kind of folded over Brad, and Brad's ankle or leg got under him."
