Coyotes General Manager Bill Armstrong has had a busy offseason, bringing in a plethora of new faces as the team sets its sights on taking the next step of its rebuild.
The faces behind the bench, though, will remain a constant.
Armstrong locked up the Coyotes' coaching staff with contract extensions this summer, ensuring head coach André Tourigny, assistant coaches Mario Duhamel and John Madden, goaltending coach Corey Schwab, head video coordinator Hunter Cherni, and skills development coach Kyle Bochek will remain in The Valley for the foreseeable future.
On top of that, the staff has built such a strong culture under Tourigny's guidance that both Nick Bjugstad and Troy Stecher opted to return for the 2023-24 season following their departures at the 2023 trade deadline.
"Everybody's done a really good job of getting the buy-in. Everybody's been a part of that," Armstrong said. "It's a big step for our organization, and we want to be playing meaningful games this year, and in the following years trying to get into the playoffs. Our coaching staff knows that, and they want to be here for that push.
"I think the familiarity of them working together will help us move forward and take that next step."
The Coyotes will kick off their preseason schedule with the NHL Global Series in Melbourne, Australia against the Los Angeles Kings on Sept. 23 and 24. Their regular season opens on Oct. 13 against the New Jersey Devils and Prudential Center.
