Number 1, meet Number 1. And we aren't talking jersey numbers.

The Chicago Cubs welcomed new Chicago Blackhawks forward Connor Bedard, the No. 1 pick in the 2023 NHL Draft last week, to Wrigley Field on Sunday.

To greet him, they had their own No. 1 pick: shortstop Dansby Swanson, taken first in the 2015 MLB Draft by the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Swanson, in his first year with the Cubs after seven seasons with the Atlanta Braves that included an All-Star appearance, Gold Glove and World Series win, posed with the 17-year-old Bedard in the tunnel below Wrigley Field.

It was part of the Cubs welcoming the entire Blackhawks 2023 Draft class to the Windy City. The newest Blackhawks posed for a group shot on the mound.

Then they were given the full tour with Bedard doing first pitch honors.
