Columbus rallied for a 4-3 overtime win in Game 1 on Thursday. Teams that take a 2-0 series lead on the road in a best-of-7 Stanley Cup Playoff series have an all-time record of 70-19 (78.7 percent), according to the Elias Sports Bureau.
Here are 5 keys for Game 2:

Grubauer gets call again for Capitals

Capitals coach Barry Trotz saw no reason to change goaltenders, so Philipp Grubauer will start Game 2. Grubauer made 23 saves in Game 1 and had little chance to stop three of the four shots that beat him, including the overtime winner by Artemi Panarin.
"It basically is like an overtime game in the regular season for 60 minutes," Grubauer said. "That's what it is. When you lose a game -- you want to win the game -- but you've got to learn from it and you've got to take some positives out."

Ovechkin must step up

Evgeny Kuznetsov scored two power-play goals in the first period of Game 1, but Washington's top line of Alex Ovechkin, Kuznetsov and Tom Wilson was quiet at even strength.
"I have to be better. I think our line has to be better, for sure, 5-on-5," Ovechkin said. "We played very well on the 5-on-4, but 5-on-5 I don't think we created enough chances. We didn't play our game and going against these guys our line has to be more dominant."

Chance to go 2-0

The Blue Jackets have never won the first two games of a playoff series. They're excited about the chance to go back to Nationwide Arena up 2-0.
"By no means are we going to back down," forward Josh Anderson said after practice Saturday. "We're up 1-0 right now, but how sweet would that be to be 2-0 going back home with our fans? We're going to be stepping on the gas pedal here and trying to pull out another win."

Lineup changes for Columbus

The Blue Jackets
will be without center
Alex Wennberg because of an upper-body injury stemming from a hit by Wilson at 1:18 of the third period Thursday. Wennberg scored a goal in Game 1, and his absence means Nick Foligno moves up to second-line center. Sonny Milano, a healthy scratch in Game 1, will dress and play left wing on the third line. Milano had 22 points (14 goals, eight assists) in 55 games.
"[Milano] still scares the hell out of me in a lot of different situations in a game," coach John Tortorella said. "But he's a guy, another guy, that can make something out of nothing and score a big goal for you."

Beagle's back

Capitals center Jay Beagle (upper body) is expected to play for the first time since April 1. He's Washington's only right-handed center and ranked fourth in the NHL in face-offs (58.5 percent) during the regular season. Beagle also led Capitals forwards in average shorthanded ice time (2:31 per game) and his absence showed in Game 1, when Washington allowed two power-play goals and lost 10 of 11 offensive-zone face-offs in the third period.
