Kukan out eight weeks for Blue Jackets with wrist fracture

Defenseman injured in win against Stars; Bayreuther recalled from AHL

Dean Kukan will be out eight weeks for the Columbus Blue Jackets because of a fractured wrist.

The defenseman was injured in a 4-1 win against the Dallas Stars on Monday. He had one shot on goal in 12:59 of ice time.
Kukan has not scored a point and is plus-2 in two games this season. He has scored 19 points (two goals, 17 assists) in 114 games during six seasons with the Blue Jackets.

Gavin Bayreuther
was recalled from Cleveland of the American Hockey League on Tuesday. He has three assists in five AHL games this season and had one goal in nine games with the Blue Jackets last season.
Columbus plays at the New York Rangers on Friday (7 p.m. ET; MSG, BSOH, ESPN+, NHL LIVE).
