The Chicago Blackhawks acquired forward Jiri Sekac from the Anaheim Ducks on Thursday in a trade for forward Ryan Garbutt.
Sekac, 23, has one goal and two assists in 22 games this season. In 91 NHL games with the Montreal Canadiens and Ducks, he has 10 goals and 26 points.

He is in the final season of his contract and can become a restricted free agent on July 1, according to war-on-ice.com.
Garbutt, 30, has two goals and six points in 43 games with the Blackhawks, his first with the organization. He played his first four NHL seasons with the Dallas Stars, and was traded to the Blackhawks on July 12, 2015, along with defenseman Trevor Daley, for forward Patrick Sharp and defenseman Stephen Johns.
In 241 NHL games with the Stars and Blackhawks, Garbutt has 32 goals and 76 points.
Garbutt has another season after this one on his contract and can become an unrestricted free agent July 1, 2017.
