HURRICANES (6-6-2) at BLUES (4-5-3) 8 p.m. ET; FS-MW, FS-CR, NHL.TV
After starting the season 4-0-1, Carolina has gone 2-6-1 in its past nine games, including 0-3-1 in the past four. Carolina will start goalie Curtis McElhinney for the first time since Oct. 20. The Blues will play without center Brayden Schenn because of an upper-body injury sustained in a 5-1 loss to the Minnesota Wild on Saturday. St. Louis defenseman Jay Bouwmeester will be a healthy scratch for the second time this season although coach Mike Yeo said Bouwmeester needs more therapy on his left hip, which required offseason surgery. Goalie Chad Johnson will make his second start of the season for the Blues.
