WINNIPEG - David Rittich made 37 saves when the Winnipeg Jets shut out the Calgary Flames 5-0 at Canada Life Centre on Wednesday.
Nikolaj Ehlers had a goal and two assists and Kyle Connor scored twice for Winnipeg. Rittich also had an assist. Dan Vladar made 13 saves on 15 shots in 29:10 for Calgary. Dustin Wolf made nine saves in relief. The Jets scored four goals in the second period. Connor made it 1-0 on the power play at 8:28 to make it 1-0, and Mark Scheifele extended the lead to 2-0 at 9:12 when he redirected a shot by Ehlers. Dominic Toninato made it 3-0 at 12:53 on a breakaway out of the penalty box. Connor scored his second goal in front after a backhand pass from Ehlers at 18:51 for a 4-0 lead. Ehlers scored a power-play goal at 10:47 of the third period for the 5-0 final.
