Brian Elliott will be out about two weeks for the Philadelphia Flyers because of a lower-body injury.

The 33-year-old goaltender was injured during a 3-0 loss to the New Jersey Devils on Thursday. Elliott attempted to go post-to-post to stop a wraparound goal by Devils forward Kyle Palmieri with 6:08 remaining in the third period and remained on the ice before skating to the bench. Elliott was replaced by Calvin Pickard, who made one save.
Elliott, who allowed two goals on 25 shots Thursday, is 6-7-0 with a 2.59 goals-against average and .911 save percentage in 14 games (13 starts) this season. He is 4-2-0 with a 1.47 GAA, .949 save percentage and one shutout in his past six games.

Pickard, 26, is 3-1-1 with a 4.33 GAA and .856 save percentage in seven games (five starts) this season, and likely will start against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday (1 p.m. ET; NHLN, SN, NBCSP, SUN, NHL.TV).
Alex Lyon
was recalled from Lehigh Valley of the American Hockey League to back him up.
"We'll roll with the best that's out there, whether it's what we have or something else," general manager Ron Hextall said Friday. "The same as always. We're always looking to upgrade our team if we can. But we picked Calvin up because we believed in him. We also believe that Alex is pretty close. They're going to have a chance here and we'll see where it goes."
"I'm confident," Pickard said Thursday. "I had a couple good starts there in the beginning of last week and the home game (a 5-4 overtime win against the Arizona Coyotes) didn't go my way. I just have to get a good sleep tonight, wake up tomorrow and get back to work."
Lyon, 25, made his NHL debut last season and was 7-4-2 with a 2.75 GAA and .905 save percentage in 11 games. He sustained a lower-body injury during training camp and played his first game in the AHL on Oct. 20.
Philadelphia also is missing goalie Michal Neuvirth, who has played one game because of a lower-body injury sustained during training camp. Hextall said Neuvirth skated Thursday but does not have a timeline for when he could return.
