lemieux kid split

Brendan Lemieux kept his promise to a young fan.

The Los Angeles Kings forward gifted the young fan, Joey, a signed stick at the Kings practice on Friday.
Lemieux found out that Joey had lost his mom to cancer three months prior after Joey's dad tweeted out a picture of Joey with the puck the forward flipped him before the Kings game against the Columbus Blue Jackets April 16th.
"We lost his mom to cancer just over three months ago and I haven't seen him smile this big since," Joey's dad wrote on Twitter. "Just wanted you to know you made (a) difference last night."
Lemieux responded saying to DM him so he could get Joey a signed stick.
The Kings did one better by inviting Joey to practice where he got to meet Lemieux and watch him sign the stick in person.

Joey's smile got a whole lot bigger.
