MIN@VGK: Vegas celebrates Pietrangelo's 1,000th game

It was a golden night for Alex Pietrangelo.

The Vegas Golden Knights defenseman was honored for reaching the 1,000 games played milestone before a game against the Minnesota Wild at T-Mobile Arena on Monday.

Pietrangelo was honored by the team before the game. He was joined on the ice by his wife, Jayne and their four children, his parents and Golden Knights general manager Kelly McCrimmon, who presented him with a gold hockey stick.

The team played a special tribute video to Pietrangelo's career, which included highlights form last year's Stanley Cup championship and his Cup win with the St. Louis Blues in 2019.

The video also featured heartfelt congratulations from Pietrangelo's teammates and coaches, both past and present.

Before the game, Golden Knights players headed into the arena sporting special Pietrangelo T-shirts commemorating the feat.

Pietrangelo's mother and wife were presented with bouquets by teammates Mark Stone and Alec Martinez.
