With a pair of wins this weekend, Team Matthews took a series lead in the Maple Leafs' Phase 3 scrimmage series known as 'A House Divided'.

After evening up the series on Saturday, Team Matthews came out flying again yesterday right off the opening face off featuring a line of John Tavares-Auston Matthews-Mitch Marner.

It was Matthews himself who opened up the scoring, batting a loose puck out of the air off a William Nylander rebound.

Ilya Mikheyev extended the lead later in the opening frame, taking a drop pass from Tyler Gaudet and releasing a wrist shot top shelf.

The 2-0 lead held up after the first 20 minutes before Mikheyev scored his second of the game, after Marner made a magical setup on the doorstep.

Matthews scored his second of the game, blasting home a one-timer off a 2-on-0 rush with Tavares.

Marner added on to his earlier assist with a goal for himself in the third, pulling the puck between his legs brilliantly before tucking the puck in.

The 5-0 victory gives Team Matthews the slight edge in the series but Team Andersen will look to answer back on Wednesday in Game 4.
