The Toronto Maple Leafs announced today that the club has recalled forward Kasperi Kapanen from the Toronto Marlies (AHL).
Kapanen, 21, registered two assists for the Marlies at Syracuse on January 27 after being loaned by the Maple Leafs earlier that day. He has skated in eight games with the Maple Leafs this season, registering two goals. Kapanen has appeared in 28 games with the Toronto Marlies in 2017-18, recording 12 goals and 12 assists for 24 points and was named a 2018 AHL All-Star prior to his most recent recall by the Maple Leafs on January 23. He was acquired by the Maple Leafs in a trade with the Pittsburgh Penguins on July 1, 2015.
The Maple Leafs return to action when they host the New York Islanders at Air Canada Centre on January 31.
