The Toronto Maple Leafs announced today that the hockey club has loaned defenceman Travis Dermott and forward Frederik Gauthier to the Toronto Marlies (AHL).
Dermott, 21, recorded one assist in two games with the Maple Leafs after being recalled from the Marlies on January 5. The Newmarket, Ontario native has previously recorded 17 points (two goals, 15 assists) in 26 games with the Marlies this season and was named to the North Division roster for the 2018 AHL All-Star Classic last week. In 85 career AHL games, all with Toronto, he has registered seven goals and 34 assists for 41 points. Dermott was originally selected by the Maple Leafs in the second round (34th overall) of the 2015 NHL Draft.
Gauthier, 22, has skated in five games with the Maple Leafs this season. The Laval, Quebec native has previous appeared in 25 games with the Marlies this season, registering five goals and three assists. Over the course of his career, he has collected four points (two goals, two assists) in 33 NHL games while recording 39 points (15 goals, 24 assists) in 127 AHL games. Gauthier was selected by the Maple Leafs in the first round (21st overall) of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.
