Just in time for the Leafs' third appearance in their Reverse Retro jerseys, we're serving up a little slice of off-ice style. Here, we highlight some of the Leafs most memorable fashion moments over the years (style stars Auston Matthews and William Nylander included), plus a couple what-were-they-thinking throwbacks that were too good not to share.

Mats Sundin (1989)
Before he became one of the Maple Leafs' most revered captains, Mats Sundin was just a baby-faced Swede nabbing the number one spot at the 1989 draft (fun fact: he was the first European-born player in history to go first overall.) Typical of the times, the then-18-year-old sported a billowy dress shirt, thick, polka-dotted tie and a pair of high-waisted chinos. Our only question is, where's the suit jacket, Mats?

Börje Salming (1988)
Decked out in a heavy tweed jacket and accessorized with an expertly tied scarf and angular pair of shades that couldn't be more '80s, Salming takes press questions looking like the spitting image of a Ziggy Stardust-era David Bowie. The legendary Hall of Famer might have been known as "The King", but we think he's got the whole rockstar thing on lock, too.

Auston Matthews (2019)
The Blue and White's resident showman isn't afraid to take a few sartorial risks (tie-dye tees, bucket hats and Justin Bieber-approved sweats are all in his regular rotation.) But this thoroughly dapper suited look, done up in a rich wine colour and complete with a leather-trimmed fedora, truly takes the cake.

Frank Mahovlich (1962)
We're going waaaaaay back here-back to when Mahovlich was in pursuit of his first of four Cup wins for the Leafs-but the then-24-year-old left winger looks somehow modern in his trim blazer decorated with the old-school logo patch. Hey, where can we get one of those?

Wendel Clark (1993)
The shiny-finish leather jacket, that snapback worn backwards-it's little coincidence that this thoroughly '90s get-up from Captain Crunch himself comes hot on the heels of Wayne's World mega-hit release in 1992.

Darryl Sittler (1977)
To say there's a lot going on here would be an understatement. Between the baby blue bomber jacket, ribbed turtleneck and that patchwork denim newsboy cap, Sittler's got the confidence of a guy at the height of his playing career (which he was, finishing third overall in regular season scoring that year.)

William Nylander (2019)
There's a good reason the Swedes are often dubbed the most stylish people on the planet. Nylander proves his trendsetting citizenship in a pre-game snap wearing a double-breasted suit, sleek pair of spectacles and a black beanie by J.Lindeberg, another Swedish export. The style sure runs deep in Scandinavia.

Dave Keon (1975)
Plaid suit and a handlebar mustache-we'd call that a classic combination. Yup, Dave Keon had the Anchorman aesthetic nailed down nearly three decades before Ron Burgundy inspired a million memes. This one's a framer.
