SEATTLE, Wash. - April 10, 2023 -Today, the Seattle Kraken (@SeattleKraken) announced that they have signed center David Goyette to a two-way, three-year contract ($950,000 AAV). Goyette is expected to report to Seattle's American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Coachella Valley Firebirds.
"We are excited to officially sign David and welcome him to the organization," said Seattle Kraken General Manager Ron Francis. "He had a tremendous season this year and we are looking forward to seeing his game continue to develop with the Kraken organization."

Goyette spent the 2022-23 season playing for the Sudbury Wolves of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), totaling 92 points (41 goals, 51 assists) in 63 regular-season games and setting OHL career highs in goals, assists, points, power-play goals (nine), shorthanded goals (one), and game-winning goals (seven). He led the Wolves in goals, points, power-play goals and game-winning goals, and his 51 assists were the second-best mark on his team. Goyette's offensive output also placed him in the top 10 in the OHL in goals (tied ninth), points (ninth) and game-winning goals (tied seventh) and earned him Sudbury's nomination for the Red Tilson Trophy, which is awarded annually to the OHL's most outstanding player during the regular season. The center played at a point-per-game pace during the 2023 playoffs, totaling four points (one goal, three assists) in four games, which tied for his team lead in scoring.
The five-foot-10, 172-pound forward has totaled 165 points (74 goals, 91 assists) in 129 regular-season OHL games. He concluded the 2021-22 regular season as a finalist for the OHL's Rookie of the Year Award after leading all OHL rookies and his team in both goals (33) and points (73). Goyette was the recipient of four Wolves' year-end awards at the end of the 2021-22 regular season, including Bud Burke Top Rookie, Bill Plaunt Top Scorer, Most Goals and the Pete Shields Award for Most Assists.
A native of Saint-Jérôme, Quebec, Goyette represented Canada at the 2022 U18 World Junior Championship where he recorded three points (one goal, two assists) in four tournament games. Goyette was selected by Seattle in the second round (61st overall) of the 2022 NHL Draft.
