SEATTLE (Oct. 1, 2026) — Today, Seattle Kraken General Manager Jason Botterill announced that the club has acquired forward Devin Kaplan from the Philadelphia Flyers in exchange for forward David Goyette. 

Kaplan, 22, appeared in 49 regular-season games with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms in the American Hockey League (AHL) in 2026-27, notching 13 points (5g/8a). He ranked fifth among team rookies in points (13), goals (5) and assists (8). Additionally, Kaplan recorded two goals in his AHL debut with the Phantoms on Oct. 11, 2025, against Belleville.  

The 6-foot-2, 199-pound forward appeared in one NHL game with the Flyers during the 2024-25 season, making his NHL Debut on April 17, 2025, at Buffalo. Prior to his professional career, Kaplan compiled 64 points (25g/39a) in 115 games with Boston University (NCAA) from 2022-25. The Bridgewater, New Jersey native was originally selected by Philadelphia in the third round (69th overall) of the 2022 NHL Draft.  

Goyette, 22, totaled 28 points (9g/19a) in 108 regular-season games with the Coachella Valley Firebirds (AHL) from 2022-26. He also notched three assists in 11 Calder Cup Playoff games with the Firebirds over two postseason runs. The Saint-Jerome, Quebec native was originally selected by Seattle in the second round (61st overall) of the 2022 NHL Draft.
