5️⃣ Things To Know For Tonight's Game

  1. The LA Kings begin a two-game homestand tonight against the Edmonton Oilers, in search of their first win of the 2026-27 regular season.
  2. Look for goaltender Darcy Kuemper to make his third consecutive start between the pipes tonight. Kuemper has allowed two goals in each of his last two starts and made a season-high 30 saves in Saturday's overtime defeat against Vegas.
  3. Kings forward Artemi Panarin scored the team's lone goal last time out, in a 2-1 overtime defeat against Vegas. Panarin leads the Kings this season in goals (3) and points (4), finding the scoresheet in three of the four games the team has played. Panarin also scored the only goal when these teams last met in Los Angeles, a 1-0 win for Los Angeles back in April.
  4. Over the last five years, between the regular season and playoffs, no player in the NHL has scored more goals against the Oilers than Kings forward Adrian Kempe, who has hit the back of the net 21 times in that span. 15 of those goals came in 24 playoff games, putting Kempe second behind Florida's Sam Reinhart in goals-per-game against the Oilers in postseason play.
  5. Dating back to the 2021-22 season, the Kings and Oilers have split the last 16 regular-season matchups, with each side winning eight games apiece. Los Angeles posted a 2-1-0 record against the Oilers a season ago, winning once in both cities, including the 1-0 win at home. The Kings also won at Rogers Arena in January, before losing on home ice in February.

Kings - Quinton Byfield: Byfield is a point-per-game player against the Oilers over the last three seasons, netting 11 points (4-7-11) in 11 games played. He's done most of his damage at home, with four goals and seven points in six games in Los Angeles, with a +6 rating in that span.

Oilers - Evan Bouchard: No player - not just defenseman - in the NHL has more goals this season than Bouchard, who has buried six in the early goings. The blueliner has collected 12 points (6-6-12) in total, trailing only teammate Connor McDavid for the NHL lead in points among all skaters.
