The New York Islanders are back on the ice as the 2017-18 training camp kicks off

  • 01:53 •

Training camp is in full swing as the Islanders were back on the ice on Friday morning.

The 52 skaters (31 forwards, 16 defensemen and five goalies) were split into two groups as the Islanders coaches and management begin their preseason evaluations.

As expected, Jordan Eberle joined John Tavares and Anders Lee on the top line in a veteran-heavy Group One. Mathew Barzal centered a line with Andrew Ladd and Josh Bailey in Group One, while Anthony Beauvillier centered a line with Brock Nelson and Josh Ho-Sang in Group Two. Nikolay Kulemin, Casey Cizikas and Cal Clutterbuck were the only holdover line from last season.
