Brock Nelson's second goal of the game forced overtime, but JT Miller scored the only goal of the shootout as the Vancouver Canucks defeated the Islanders 5-4 before a sellout crowd of 18,871 at Rogers Arena.
The game was within one goal throughout; Andrew Ladd's first goal since October 30, 2018 gave the Isles their only lead but the Isles would rally three other times to get even.

The loss earned the Isles their second point in two games but extended the winless streak to seven games (0-3-4). It's the first time since February/March 2018 (8 games) that the Isles have gone at least five games without a win.
