The New York Islanders defeated the Philadelphia Flyers 4-3 on Tuesday night at UBS Arena.
Zach Parise scored the game winner, while Noah Dobson, Anders Lee and Mathew Barzal (power play) also scored. Ilya Sorokin made 14 saves 17 on shots in the victory.

For the Flyers, Claude Giroux, Justin Braun and Gerry Mayhew scored. Martin Jones made 29 saves 33 on shots in the loss.
THE SCORING:
First Period:
0:57 - PHI 1, NYI 0 -Claude Giroux put Philadelphia on the board as his sharp-angle shot trickled through Ilya Sorokin's legs. Oskar Lindblom and Travis Sanheim recorded the assists.
12:48 - PHI 2, NYI 0- Justin Braun doubled the Flyers' lead 2-0. Cam Atkinson picked up the sole assist.
13:37 - NYI 1, PHI 2 - Noah Dobson cut the Islanders' deficit in half as he beat Martin Jones with a long-rang shot. Zdeno Chara and Jean-Gabriel Pageau tallied the assists.
18:15 - NYI 2, PHI 2 - Anders Lee provided the Islanders with the 2-2 equalizer as he buried a feed from Mathew Barzal on an odd-man rush. Josh Bailey notched an assist.
Second Period:
5:42 - NYI 3, PHI 2, PPG -Mathew Barzal gave the Islanders their first lead of the game as he ripped a one-timer top shelf for the power-play goal.
Third Period:
1:30 - PHI 3, NYI 3 - Gerry Mayhew skated into the slot and fired his shot near side for Philadelphia's 3-3 equalizer. Scott Laughton and Travis Sanheim earned the assists.
11:51- NYI 4, PHI 3 - Zach Parise buried a pass from Brock Nelson off the rush to restore the Islanders' lead 4-3. Anthony Beauvillier also picked up an assist.
SPECIAL TEAMS:
The Islanders were 1-for-4 on the power play and were 1-for-1 on the penalty kill.
The Flyers were 0-for-1 on the power play and were 3-for-4 on the penalty kill.
GOALTENDING BATTLE:
Ilya Sorokin made 14 saves on 17 shots for the Islanders.
Martin Jones made 29 saves on 33 shots for the Flyers.
