The New York Islanders overcame a slow start and a 3-1 deficit the score a 4-3 OT win over the Calgary Flames on Monday night at UBS Arena.
Noah Dobson scored the OT winner on the power play with 58 seconds to play, capping a comeback that started with a teriffic two-goal third period. Anders Lee and Kyle Palmieri scored 59 seconds apart in the third, while Sebastian Aho scored his first goal of the season.
Mikael Backlund had a pair of goals, while Elias Lindholm scored for the Flames.
With the win, the Islanders have won six of their last seven games and snapped a four-game losing streak to the Flames.

First Period
11:16 - CGY 1, NYI 0 - Jonathan Huberdeau has possession of the puck down low and feeds Mikael Backlund in the slot. Backlund beats Ilya Sorokin blocker side. Connor Mackey picks up the secondary assist.
12:26 - NYI 1, CGY 1 - Sebastian Aho scores his first goal of the season, cutting to the net and burying a cross-ice feed from Mathew Barzal to tie the score 1-1. Aho's goal comes on the Islanders first shot of the game. Josh Bailey picks up the secondary assist.
16:21 - CGY 2, NYI 1 - Noah Hanifin's point shot is deflected by Elias Lindholm and beats a screened Sorokin. Tyler Toffoli with the secondary assist.
Second Period
14:10 - CGY 3, NYI 1 - Backlund scores his second goal of the game, beating a screened Sorokin with a wrister off the post. Nikita Zadorov has the lone assist.
Third Period
10:08 - CGY 3, NYI 2 - Brock Nelson shoots from the slot and Anders Lee deposits the rebound at the side of the net for his team-leading seventh goal of the season. Mathew Barzal picks up the secondary assist after leading a rush from the Islanders' zone.
11:07 - NYI 3, CGY 3 - Kyle Palmieri beats Jacob Markstrom with a low shot to the far side from the half wall to tie the score.

4:02 - NYI 4, CGY 3 OT PPG - Noah Dobson hammers a slap shot past Markstrom in OT. Barzal and JG Pageau pick up the assists.

Cal Clutterbuck left the game after the first period and did not return... The Islanders have now scored 22 third period goals and have only allowed 11 this season... Barzal's three assists were a season-high... After only registering 12 shots in the first two periods, the Islanders had 20 shots across the third period (19) and OT (1)... Barzal led the Islanders with 24:01 TOI... Brock Nelson had a team-high six shots on goal... JG Pageau won 20 of 25 faceoffs...
