The New York Islanders were shut out for the second time this season after being blanked 2-0 by the Arizona Coyotes on Thursday night at UBS Arena.
Travis Boyd's power-play goal one minute into the third period held up as the game-winner, while Jack McBain added an empty-netter with 30.5 seconds to play.
The loss ended the Islanders two game winning streak and was their first regulation defeat at home against the Coyotes since 2002. The Islanders are 10-1-1 in their last 12 home games against the Yotes.
Karel Vejmelka made 24 saves for his first shutout of the season.
