Rapid loss to Boston

The New York Islanders fell 6-2 to the league-leading Boston Bruins on Saturday evening at TD Garden.
Kyle Palmieri and Matt Martin put up goals for New York, but the Islanders were overpowered with goals from Jake DeBrusk (1G, 1A), Nick Foligno (1G, 1A), Trent Frederic (2G), Patrice Bergeron and Pavel Zacha to create an insurmountable lead.
Semyon Varlamov made his third start of the season against the Bruins, stopping 21-of-27 shots in the third and final meeting of the season series, which went 0-2-1 for New York.
The Islanders (63 points) remain in the second wild card spot in the Eastern Conference, as the Florida Panthers (62 points) lost 7-3 to the Nashville Predators on Saturday, unable to hop over the Isles in the ultra-tight wild card race.
