The puck is dropping... on the preseason.
The Islanders kick off the 2019 preseason on Monday night against the Philadelphia Flyers at Wells Fargo Center at 7 p.m.. The game will be broadcast on MSG+ and NHL Network, courtesy of the Flyers' feed.
Monday's game kicks off a home-and-home, back-to-back set against the Isles and Flyers, who reconvene on Tuesday night at NYCB Live. The Islanders will play seven preseason games in the run-up to the 2019-20 regular season.
The game group did not skate at Northwell Health Ice Center on Monday morning. See below for expected game rosters. While the Islanders starter was not specified, there's a good chance Semyon Varlamov makes his Islanders preseason debut, as the team tends to change goalies halfway through preseason games. Brian Elliott will start, per the Flyers' official site, with Alex Lyons replacing him halfway through the contest.
